Memorial Day Traditions

Memorial Day has come and gone.
When I was a kid, we always went to the cemetery to decorate the graves of my dad's family.
Once in a while we go to decorate Jim's family's graves.
That mostly depends on the weather.
I contend that in the almost 32 years we've been married, 30 of those years it has rained on the day we planned to go visit the cemetery.  If we want to go, we wake up on Memorial weekend, and "oh, it's not raining, lets go cut some flowers and go before it starts raining."
It sprinkled on us this year at Broken Bow.

I also contend that anytime we want to have a family picnic at the Farm, we have the same problem.  We have to gauge our time spent there by how long we'll have before the rain starts.  This year we had from 3 pm to 6.  It poured down rain as we were driving home.
Last year, we had the picnic at our house, indoors.
It rained.

I'm not perfectly keeping up to the photo a day.
Sometimes I forget.
This is what I have.

I take these photos because they represent a piece of me.

May 20

My favorite things: cocoa, my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and a book.

One of seven in our front yard.

May 22

Because I like these.

If you look closely this is made by a boy that needs symmetry.
Only two or three colors of bricks don't match, but the sizes do.

I'm looking after the boys on Fridays.
The dog wasn't my idea.

Family Picnic at The Farm

This little gun is battery powered to make noise.  Paislee only hunts reindeer.
Later in the evening, somebody had that gun and Paislee says, "Don't shoot me, I'm not a reindeer!"

Daily Photos

There was a time a few years ago, when I set myself the goal of taking a picture a day, partly to help me keep focused on what happens in a year of my life.
I like the idea of taking a photo looking for the beautiful things of life.
I also like the idea of taking a photo so you remember the beautiful things of life.

Here are some other nice photos from the week.

Lilies of the Valley, because they are my favorite flower.

Christian wanting me to read him a story.

Christian took this, and did a pretty good job, too!

Because little girls and kittens are just too cute.
